A shiny quarter, a Dairy Queen jukebox, a forbidden guitar, and the rest is history.
I knew as a child, when my oldest brother told me he’d kick my ass if I touched his guitar, that playing it would be my destiny. The first time I touched those smooth steel strings, I was hooked, but without a guitar.
Throughout my childhood I played sports while my brother played that guitar. I listened, I watched, and I was introduced to a healthy dose of Deep Purple, Rush, The Police, Fleetwood Mac, Metallica, and Van Halen.
Then one summer night, before my brother left for college, he called me into his room. And there it was, the first six string I’d ever laid my hands on. A highly-abused, but playable electric guitar and a massive collection of 1980s guitar magazines (pre-Internet). A gift that changed my life forever.
I draw upon memories like these and play songs that offer instant nastalgia for a wide range of listeners. I strip down over-produced fillers and giving listeners the pure, crisp, singer-songwriter versions of some of the greatest songs ever written.
